Why NSI Protection Plus?

Our service plan is an economical way to extend the terms of your product's manufacturer parts & labor warranty.

Most manufacturer's limited warranties leave customers with no protection against the rising cost of repairs.

Even the best products can malfunction and the most minor repairs can cost hundreds.

About NSI Protection Plus

Administered by Warrantech and insured by AmTrust Financial, NSI Protection Plus is the largest service network in the industry with 30 years of building the network and over 22 million in paid claims.

The most comprehensive repair plans in the business!

  • Day one coverage on special features
  • Removal and reinstallation coverage
  • $25 Laundry credit (Washers and Dryers)
  • 5 year appliance contracts include 10 year major component coverage
  • $250 Food credit (per incident, eligible products)
  • The only true "No Lemon Guarantee" in the business
  • No "CAP" on repairs or replacement, unlimited repairs.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Best ever range

Drjian7 7/29/2019

Had this about two weeks and love it. I had a similar one which was a lemon but this one has no problems. 4 different size burners allow things to cook at different levels . The oven heats up quite quickly for an electric. Huge oven with 3 racks, one of which slides out easily.

Very good range

abe82 7/29/2019

We replaced a Jennaire down draft electric range a couple of months ago and , after getting used to gas rather than electric, we Like it with one exception. That being both large burners in front rather than one in front and one in back. We find this to be a poor arrangement. This is the first range we have seen with both large burners in front and can't understand why it's that way!

Excellent product but.....

Moruss 7/11/2019

I prefer a gas oven. We had no choice because we needed a downdraft, slide in oven for our small kitchen. The gas stove is wonderful and spacious, but the oven heats up a bit slowly and I will need to adjust to cooking with it. Also, the fan that cools it down, post-cooking is a bit loud. Again, this product is clearly well made, but I had preferences that couldn't be fulfilled because of our set up. Kitchen Aid is a go to brand.

WCrowley 7/4/2019

The duel fuel is such a great option. Excellent gas cooktop with electric convection. Best of both worlds. The only issue was venting it out of the house. Since it is downdraft, you may need to run a new vent system.

Best Range Ever

Milla56 6/24/2019

We purchased this to place in an Island in our kitchen, it is top quality! Everything works great and the gas range heats food quickly. The oven cooks my food evenly. The roll out rack in the oven is so nice to pull out when cooking large or heavy dishes.I haven't used the convection yet, but I'm sure it will be great! We're very happy with our choice of this KitchenAid oven!

Love / hate the down draft

katwoman 6/17/2019

I really like my new range, however, there is one small issue that I don't like. Whenever I use the downdraft it pulls the flame towards that direction so one side of the pan I am cooking with gets hotter than the other side. Therefore, I have to constantly move the food around for even cooking.

good downdraft

Pamela B 6/4/2019

We had a 40 year old Jenn Aire downdraft and I wanted a new stove. Installation was a nightmare as the gas line and electrical had to be moved 10" and our granite had to be shaved 1/8". But the stove is in and works well, with a much bigger oven than our Jenn Aire.

Don't buy this!!!

GBecky 5/23/2019

My grates look like this after 3 uses. KitchenAid has sent 3 new sets of grates, all which do the exact same thing: scratch and look dirty no matter how often you clean them! Their final response was: this is cosmetic and there is nothing more we can do. Don't buy this range!

Keep looking

JS2016 5/22/2019

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances during our 2016 kitchen remodel. Our Fridge makes funny noise all the time (even after a new motor was installed in 2017) and the oven just stopped working this week. Only 3 1/2 years old and we're having to pay $400--$600 to have a cooling fan fixed. I am terribly disappointed in the way KitchenAid handled this situation. This should not happen to a new major appliance. Do better, KitchenAid!

Beautiful piece of engineering

NorsiteNLON 5/16/2019

We bought this two months ago to replace a 15 year old Jenn Air dual fuel downdraft and this unit is as fabulous as it is flawless. Wonderful top grate system. I especially like the "Keep Warm" feature that holds foods at 170 degrees. The installation of the downdraft blower, even replacing another downdraft, is not a DIY project so I recommend having that part professionally done. The fan is very strong even with a long run of venting. Great machine.

Buyer Beware!

RebeccaG 5/15/2019

I purchased this range in November. By April, I was on my 3rd set of replacement grates, due to scratching immediately upon using the grates. Scratched grates within 1 use? I exclusively use stainless steel pots and pans. Surely, I felt Whirlpool would make this situation "right." I was wrong! Customer service offered to send me one more set of the same grates. The customer service representative actually suggested that I purchase another set to use when I have company or am not cooking!!! I explained this wasn't for "show" it was dissatisfaction for a product I spent a lot of money on. Highly dissatisfied with this purchase and mostly, highly dissatisfied with customer service's response.

The Stong Silent Type

Argonist 5/1/2019

If you need a slide-in, dual energy, downdraft range there are not many choices. This model is head and shoulders above our previous. And the downdraft is perfect - very powerful so it really pulls the steam and odors; yet is unexpectedly quiet. Also very happy with the wide oven door / window and strong lighting. Gives a great view to everything going on in the oven.

AVOID

LMGS 4/29/2019

I bought a Kitchenaid dual fuel 4 burner range over 10 years ago. I would never spend money on this again. It has broken down repeatedly over the years, and I have replaced all the parts multiple times. The circuit boards twice, the heating element twice, the inside and outside glass, and problems with the stove top. I have no confidence in this product. I have spent thousands repairing it as well. You would be better off spending half the money, because you will need a new range in under 10 years.

Works and looks great

bc67 4/26/2019

Very satisfied with our new stove. Make sure the gas, electric and exhaust duct are in the correct location using on line info prior to purchase/delivery. The oven preheats to cooking temperature in about the same time as our old gas stove. The control panel controls all functions. The only knobs on the stove are for the 4 stove top burners making cleaning easier. Looks great.

Cooktop grates are a mess after 6 months

patti49MV 3/20/2019

I really want to love this oven/range as it almost fit perfectly for the one I had that replaced it. It's frustrating when you have an oven with a downdraft built-in you have to replace it with that or it's super expensive. This product has worked well as far as the oven, and the cooktop works well too, but the burners all seem to run VERY HOT , and it's virtually impossible to simmer anything. And then I'm noticing just after 6 months that the grates on top are getting all scratched up and look terrible. I was looking through the manual and it says "although the burner grates are durable they will gradually lose their shine and/or discolor due to the high temperatures of the gas flame". Well had I seen that I may not have bought it as my previous cooktop had black grates and they stayed black. Really consider how you want your cooktop to look in the middle of your kitchen before purchasing this. I'm very unhappy about it.

Aqualift self clean is a joke!

NECF 3/9/2019

This range works fine BUT the aqualift self clean feature is a joke. Impossible to get the inside clean. DO NOT buy a kitchenaid appliance with this feature, unless you enjoy scrubbing, scouring, twisting your spine around the door to get into the back. I design kitchens for a living and tell all my clients to avoid this product.

Dreamy tp cook everything

mana67 3/4/2019

We had bought this stove to replace an old downdraft stove when we had our kitchen remodeled in February. We,suffered a little sticker shock at first and then used it and it has some wonderful features. I was so glad to find out the range came with multiple burners and an electric oven; now all in one unit. I have grilled shrimp on the griddle. Came out perfect. It bakes evenly with several features I will try soon, like proofing bread. It is cleaned with steaming. 4 different burners lets you simmer sauces while you boil noodles with ease.

All that glitters is not gold

SK22 2/22/2019

Ok. I was forced to choose between the Jenn-Air and Kitchenaid slide in range with downdraft because a hood did not fit into our kitchen design. I loved the way the Kitchenaid collection looked so I bought all the appliances in the collection to finish off my kitchen remodel. Previously, I've owned a whirlpool electric range and a 6 burner Kenmore stainless steel gas range(not sure what the actual brand was). I read all the negative reviews before purchasing this range but I was honestly stuck and I just chose it over the Jenn-Air because of looks figuring they were similar enough as they are all made my the same company. Plus I tend to take negative reviews and super positive reviews with a grain of salt and tend to read the middle reviews the most and normally I don't review products because I know that something can be great for someone and not great for someone else. However, I felt I should review this product to help someone else looking to buy this range, especially as it is a middle price range and one that many people might be tempted to buy. What I like about the oven and collection: 1. STYLE-I like the look of the handles. 2. DOWNDRAFT. I have found the downdraft works very well with food steam/smoke (after the appliance store had to take the whole appliance apart because it was making a funny noise and there was some sort of bolt loose.) What drives me crazy about this stove/collection: 1. FLIMSY-the whole collection minus the microwave is very flimsy and just stainless steel plated and very susceptible to dents. I've already had the stove panel replaced from when it was installed and again when they had to replace a part, it was replaced with a dented piece that had to be replaced. I am still waiting to hear if my freezer bottom of the french door refrigerator can be replaced. I have only had this installed for about 3 months. Compared to my previous stainless steel appliances that I had since 2006 without any need of replacement. 2. OVEN TEMP- a. Preheat-just turn the preheat on in the morning and it might be ready by the time you want to cook dinner in the evening. I jest but it takes about 30 minutes to preheat the oven. b.To make this oven come to temp. I need to constantly set it at convection with no adjustments for recipe and set it 20 degrees higher than I actually want to cook at to make whatever I'm cooking, cook at the right temperature. c. I need to move whatever dish that has something on top that needs melting or cooking to be moved from the middle rack so the bottom gets cooked without burning then up to the top rack so that the top melts. I've been cooking daily for 15 years and have never had to do this-not even with my first little apartment oven. d. I've made sure that my stove is level and had the appliance store I bought this from check as well as my contractor husband. However, I still need to constantly turn the food I make to make sure the left side doesn't cook at a higher/quicker temp than the middle and right side. 3. AQUALIFT steam clean-Insert laughing emoji here. Does not work at all. I am someone who likes to clean my oven monthly and have a very clean oven. This is an absolute joke. What drives me less crazy but is still annoying: 1. The placement of the downdraft-works well but it's very tight. If you have a 12" sauté pan and you're moving it around and sautéing you need to realize that if you don't do it very carefully and slowly, any food that pops out will end up down the downdraft and then you need to take it apart and clean everything out. 2. For gas heat the burners don't have any simmer at all. So if you want to cook a big soup you need to move it to the smallest burner when you get to the simmering function or it will continue to boil. 3. The gas burners do not produce heat evenly and you need to constantly turn your pan around to get all sides. 4. After the oven is turned off, the cooling fan continues to run for well over an hour. I am not noise sensitive so it does not bother me but it has bothered guests of my open concept kitchen. Overall, I don't really have a choice but if you do, don't go with this range.

Kitchen Aid dual-fuel, downdraft gas range

Smaller but powerful micr 2/21/2019

Totally thrilled with my new, dual-fuel down-draft gas range. Love the convection cooking option, having to get use to food being cooked quicker in spite of a lower temperature setting. First time using a gas range, but find that most foods can be cooked sufficientl

Never Again!

old lady! 2/14/2019

I bought this 4 months ago and the oven has not worked correctly yet. It has been serviced 2 times and parts replaced. It says it has reached the set temperature when it has not (I bought an oven thermometer and had it checked for accuracy); it also will not hold a temperature. It took me over 1.5 hours to bake custard that takes 45 minutes. I am 77 and have cooked for years on a gas burners and electric oven and neither part of this range works suitably. There is no simmer on any of the 4 burners. Now I am trying to get KitchenAid to take it back and am having a battle over this. Never again would I buy this product!

Looks nice

Judith H 2/12/2019

Oven works great. The medium and large burners do not adjust low enough. With better cookware everything is cooking way too fast even on as low as they go. Love to cook and this is taking the joy out of it.

Faulty Electronics, Unsafe

TC12 2/10/2019

Bought about 18 months ago from Home Depot. Right after the Christmas holiday the display went blank, making the touch pad to use the oven functions worthless. We called home depot and kitchen aid and were told this is outside of warranty. This short of warranty on a $3700+ appliance is outrageous. We scheduled a repairman to come, but today, the night before he is due to work on the unit, we came home to a burning smell. The oven had somehow turned itself on! This is unsafe!

Kitchenaid 30-inch 4-burner downdraft slide-in ran

notavailable 1/26/2019

Purchased fall 2018. Poor design and very difficult to clean. My range vents thru wall behind it - and even when vent cap is closed and range is off, there is constant strong cold wind (winter) draft into the room from the range vent. Perhaps a convection situation. Each of the 4 burners is designed for a pot size, very inconvenient for example when you need two pots of same size to boil. The cook should have 4 matching burners. Cleaning is a nightmare even with when using suggested mail order products. The Mfr finish which allows for green cleaning requires distilled water. After two oven cleaning cycles, I'm unable to clean the rear oven wall, the side oven walls and the glass door.

The Cadilliac of down draft gas ranges!

The Crow 1939 1/24/2019

If you really appreciate quality and can afford to spend a little bit more to get it, this is the down draft gas range for you! It is an appliance that will probably outlast it's original owner, and will very likely get handed down to the next generation!

Downdraft Done Right

LouieLouie 1/23/2019

Bought this to replace a 15 year old Thermador with a periscoping downdraft. I was leery based on tales of center downdraft gas ranges having their heat sucked away by the vent. Not so here. A chimney built into the stovetop cast iron grids raises the inlet well above e the flame. The burner arrangement, with the big burners in front and smaller ones in the rear is design choice, but it wouldn't be mine. I'd prefer one lk arge burner in the rear. No complaints about burner power, the big burners provide plenty of heat for searing all across a 12" pan. I miss the extra-low setting on my Thermador, although raising a pan up an inch with an upside down grill basket does the trick, if a bit kludgy. I have no complaints about the controls or clearance up. The oven has seen limited use, but it hasn't burnt anything and came calibrated within 10 degrees at 450 degrees, or about 2% - very acceptable. So while not perfect, there are no showstoppers from my experience, and I would recommend this for anyone who needs a downdraft vent for their kitchen.

Wonderful, high-end range!

Mobley 1/14/2019

As you may find with other reviews, there are not many options on the market if you are looking a slide-in, downdraft gas range. Fortunately, this range is great! I have not experienced any issues with lengthy preheat as I saw in some other reviews. It did take some coordinating of installers as I was converting from no-down draft prior range and from gas to electric. Had HVAC and gas folks lined up to do their work. I also had my granite folks out to cut a notch in the backsplash to slide the range as far back as possible. I replaced my prior stove 3 days before Christmas (yes, I think I lost my sanity for a moment). I managed to host a wonderfully cooked meal and my family members were all impressed with the new addition to the kitchen. I'd buy it all over again!

Superb baking!

Everbru 1/3/2019

Needed a downdraft oven for the redesign of our kitchen. Opted for the KA over JennAir, which worked great because we fell in love with a KA refrigerator. This oven does take more work to install because of the downdraft and there is an additional fee for the duct work. I have only had the oven for a few months and in that time I have made a few recipes that I've made dozens of times before in my old oven and for some reason they came out even BETTER in this oven! If you're used to baking in a gas oven, it may take a little time to adjust to an electric but you'll be thrilled with the results once you do! There was one small problrm with the control panel but luckily it was under warrant and the seller was able to come out and replace it. It is a beautiful range and I gt complements on it all the time. It looks as though it belongs in a professional chef's kitchen.

THE replacement for old Jenn-Air Downdraft

grahambob 1/2/2019

Our kitchen "peninsula" was designed around a Jenn-Air downdraft unit nearly 20 years ago. The old Jenn-Air started to fail with fault codes and temp issues. To adapt to the new KitchenAid we had to cut the butcher block counter to a full 30" opening width, (from Jenn-Air 29-1/4"), upgrade electrical from a 3 to 4 prong outlet, run a new gas line and slightly enlarge the 5" diameter hole in the floor to line up the 5" diameter downdraft duct work. Somewhat scary initially, but worked out very well in the end. Coordination in advance with appliance installer, electrician and my plumber who handled the gas line and duct work was imperative and all the work required the better part of a work day. The salesperson who sold us the unit was mistaken that swopping the old unit for the new was virtually "plug & play". That being said, from all the research I've done, this KitchenAid is really the ONLY unit that's close to being able to adapt to the old Jenn-Air installation parameters. Just know what you're in for, which in my case was about an additional $600 in new electrical, gas line and duct work as well as my being brave sawing the counter top and floor opening myself. The new KitchenAid has been a joy to cook and bake with and performs wonderfully. My wife and I are very pleased with the end result and new features and capabilities of the KitchenAid.

Great range & features EXCEPT-

Tawonda38 12/29/2018

I have had my range for about 3 months. I love everything about it EXCEPT adding time, when needed, when baking, in any setting. It is impossible to reset the timer WITHOUT going back to oven temp consequently the temp lowers. Online service was -0. I would love to know how to reset without going through the entire setup again. That is why I give it a 4.u

A solid range built to last

rskin1949 12/29/2018

This was a purchase prompted by continued frustration with the inability of existing range to maintain flame at very low temperatures and poor ventilation. The new KitchenAid solved both problems with ease and is a well-made range for the home cook.
