Pleasantly surprised

Submitted by Boss Lady - 8/18/2017

Except for the chip of porcelain on the inside of the oven that we can't figure out where it came from, this oven bakes cookies to perfection, the induction top boils water in record time and it looks beautiful. Still getting used to temperatures in settings as you would with any new range but thus far it's the best of the Kitchenaid appliance trip I bought with our remodel. Bakes evenly which is wonderful! The fan stays on for an extremely long time afternoon use, which takes some getting used to.

Stove top good, ovens are very bad

Submitted by Don - 8/18/2017

The stove top is efficient and does what an induction should. I find the under-the-glass controls tricky and sensitive, but otherwise things are ok. The problem is with the ovens, and I bake a lot. I have now had the oven preheating for 55 minutes and it has just reached 450. If you decide you would like to lower the temperature when something is in the oven usually flips back into preheat mode, which means the top element comes on, burning the top of your dish. The upper oven tends to burn things... useful only on very low heat as a warmer or for something where high heat is fine. Once you have turned the oven off the cooling fan runs for more than an hour. A little thing that also bugs me is that it takes two or three pushes to get through the steps to turn the oven timer on or off. Also there are too many steps in turning on the individual oven controls.

We bought this a month ago and have no complaints at all. Love the small oven and have only used it so far. I've used 3 of the 4 elements on the stove top and they work great, heats up water very quickly, provides even heat for cooking and cools down quickly.

Submitted by Zerlinger - 4/26/2017

My old electric oven's power supply caught on fire on Christmas day and ruined dinner. Found this oven that has all the bells and whistles I was looking for like induction and convection. I have cooked a few meals on it and I find it easy to operate. Looking forward to next Christmas to use this oven.

extremely fast range top

Submitted by GPA - 4/24/2017

Wow! The cook top is even faster than I expected. We did a test with 4 cups of water in an electric teapot and 4 cups in a teapot on the smallest burner. The range top was really faster. Cleanup is a breeze because the top does not get hot enough to burn food on. The fan does blow for a while after cooking, but can be shortened by leaving the oven door open. (A minor inconvenience). The 2 ovens are useful for 2 people (small oven) or both ovens for family time or dinner parties. Great choice so far. GPA

Double Oven with Induction Range and All Digital Touch

Submitted by JB - 4/21/2017

Best Quality Kitchen Upgrade Possible within the Same Existing Space! This March 2017 Install perfectly filled the space of the 3 year old Sears Kenmore with a 5 minute slide in and connect and ready to use install. We were extremely impressed with fact that we instantly had two ovens with two sizes with different features which was perfect for cooking multiple items at different temperatures simultaneously for our first Large Easter Dinner! The functionality gain was amazing. Also, the Instant on Induction top with quick touch digital settings allowed us to cook multiple dishes in a fraction of the time compared to previous large meals. Since Easter, I often use an Induction Popcorn Popper that instantly pops corn without burning nor clean up mess for a quick movie snack. The delivery and install of this Kitchen Aid double oven with induction top replacement was also FREE and easy! Highly recommend!!!

I bought this a month ago and love all the benefits of using an induction range. The double oven has halved my baking time. I am happy with the look and performance of this range. My only complain is the position of the burner controls on the cooktop . They are very sensitive to the slightest touch , so anything accidentally falling on them will change the setting. This means a spoon, or part of a cookware placed on the control panel, or even a drop of water falling from my hands or washed produce may change the heat setting of the burners or even turn the cooktop off. I have to be vigilant about keeping the control panel clean as a layer of grease makes the panel unresponsive .

Nicest stove I've ever used.

Submitted by Almost Makes Me Want to Cook Sometimes - 4/13/2017

Best feature set I've ever seen on a stove. I hate cooking in general (my dream house has no kitchen at all, just a wave pool instead), but this stove makes it more fun. Also, the alarm that goes off when the cat jumps up on it is a huge side benefit! :) We call it the Twerp Alert.

Amazing. Would buy again in a minute.

Submitted by Jmama - 4/6/2017

I have been cooking on this stove for four months now. As an aspiring chef, I wanted a professional grade stove, and I was choosing between this and the Miele. I decided to go with this. I wanted the double oven, and it was half the price. I have never cooked in induction ...so it seemed wise to ease in at a cheaper price point. Well....it does not function "cheaply". It is amazing. You have a stove that reacts when you want it to...no waiting for the burner to heat up or cool down. I have not had any issues with a pan not being "recognized " as with cheaper induction ranges....and the cookware that chefs love ( scanpan, Le Creuset) are all compatible. I donated one stainless stockpot that did not work....all the rest of my cookware was compatible. The convection oven is fantastic. I have had consistently great result with everything from macaroons, roast chicken, lasagna and pizza. My favorite trick for a "wood oven style" pizza is to pre bake the crust in the bottom oven and then broil in the top one ...with the toppings, olive oil and maldon salt....and you get a fantastic pizza every time. No need for pizza steels, stones or the rest. It's incredibly easy to clean. The self clean works well, and the top doesn't get cakes on spills as it remains cool when cooking. It's a dream. The most fabulous thing about this stove? It's the safest range you could ever buy. It turns off if a pan is not on the stove....so great when you leave your children to cook.....you know they won't leave a burner on. The controls are a three step combo that cannot " accidentally " get turned on, as with gas models , and it uses less electricity than my last electric range. It looks fantastic in my new kitchen, and the beautiful cerulean blue ceramic ovens are gorgeous. Absolutely amazing quality all around. As someone who cooks all day, every day, I am beyond thrilled to be working with this appliance. I would purchase the kitchen aid over the Miele again.

Submitted by Steve - 3/20/2017

Takes some getting used to at first but performance is excellent. Induction top cooks great and is instantly responsive. Layout of the cooktop is a little strange however with the largest burners in the back (using large pots in the front will hit and activate the controls) but the other features make up for it 100 fold. Ovens are equally great and having the second smaller oven is a significant bonus.

Very nice range!

Submitted by Goldwing Rider - 3/17/2017

I haven't brought a new range in over 20 years, but I'm very happy that I bought this one! I've wanted a double oven range for a long time, and finding one with an induction stove top, along with a convection oven really sweetened the deal. First let me say cooking with induction takes a little getting used to, but once you figure out how it works, it's makes quick work of boiling water and even quicker heating of other foods, which cuts down the time you need to spend standing at your stove. So far I've only used the convection oven (located only in the lower larger oven), and it did a nice job cooking meat and baking a cake. I wish the larger oven (with the convection element) was on the top, as you have to almost kneel down to see what's happening through the oven window, but it cooks great, so I'm happy.

I bought this a few weeks ago and could not be happier. We had purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher a few years ago and absolutely love it, so when we were looking for a new range we came across this range in our search on the web. Our local appliance store ordered it in for us and delivered it a few weeks ago and we absolutely love the induction stove top and the convection oven, never had used one before, it makes baking and cooking a joy again. Awesome product and would absolutely recommend it.

Don't waste your money

Submitted by RST - 3/9/2017

I bought this in November. Did a lot of holiday baking. Used the self-clean and the inside of the oven chipped. Called the service department and it took them 6 weeks to exchange my oven for a new one. Baked a pie and it overflowed. Self-cleaned and again, the inside chipped. I do not recommend this product. I am so disappointed.

Love the induction, mixed on other aspects

Submitted by CM - 3/6/2017

The good: induction is super fast. We like having the double oven, even though we lost a big chunk of storage. The not great: hard to keep clean. The cook top and stainless on the front show every mark. The cook top has a gasket around the edge that traps every thing. Very frustrating. The controls are confusing, both for the cook top and the ovens. We hate that the cook top berps at us if we put anything on the control area. We got a smooth top because we don't have a lot of counter space so we use the surface for some types of prep, and having to avoid the control area is annoying. Also, when you spray cleaner in it, it beeps until you wipe it up. I wish I could disable that beep!!! The upper oven world great but I'm not sure about the lower yet. The convection seems really slow. The instruction book is not at all helpful. Yes some of us actually read the manual. Haven't had a chance to try the steam yet for baking. I wish the was more info about that. I don't get the whole slow cook thing. from what I see in the manual, it works like you're just cooking something on a low temp for a long time, something ANY oven can do.

You cannot go wrong with this Induction Range!

Submitted by HartfordHasIt - 3/4/2017

We moved to a new home and were forced to shift from Gas to Electric - upgrading from electric to Induction was beyond incredible - people are amazed to hear that I would never go back to gas! The efficiency is incredible and I can quickly cook food with better control than gas. I do recommend that you make sure your induction cookware is a high quality brand (such as Demeyere) - as a lot of my All-Clad cookware, while it works, is VERY noisy on the cooktop. Having 2 ovens is amazing - with only 2 of us in our household, I am able to use the smaller top oven pretty much as the primary one - and because it is small - it heats up super fast and provides great results. The lower oven convection is amazing - be prepared to wait longer than average for the convect roast to heat the oven - not sure why this feature takes longer than the other heating methods...but, I do not use it very often anyway - also, the cooling fan runs for a very long time after you shut the oven off - does not bother me one bit, but some people might not like that very much. I'd rather know that they took the time to ensure that proper cooling methods were built in to protect the electronics!!

Wonderful Induction Oven

Submitted by Tubby - 3/3/2017

I was looking for an induction cook top with double oven. This is exactly that. The build quality is top notch. The induction burners work with wonderful precision, and can boil faster that gas when needed. Most of all, I can finally simmer! Previous cookers I've used have never been able to do this conistently. This induction top can even gently melt butter. I'm very impressed.

ease of cleaning the glass top

Submitted by Yobia - 2/20/2017

I bought this a month ago because the previous non induction KitchenAid range I bout just before Thanksgiving was very difficult to clean the glass top. Therefore, unfortunately I had to add money to makeup the difference which was about $1300 more and got charged restocking fee of $250 and exchanged the double oven non induction with double oven induction. I have not used the ovens yet but the range glass top cleaning is a breeze.

What's the problem?

Submitted by Mad - 2/7/2017

Paid for this two days after Thanksgiging. Able to pick it up finally two days before Christmas. The cook top didn't work. Called the dealer, they finally came out January 31. It works now but has an annoying hum. Don't know if that's supposed to make that noise. The serviceman was going to look into it and let us know. A week later, no response. The underside of the cooktop has water streaks, like I got a damaged unit sold me as new. When the service guy came, I told him I want it replaced. He said they have to try to fix it first, and can't swap it out. What's the problem, KitchenAid, or the retailer?

Stovetop gets 5 stars, ovens get zero.

Submitted by Kristi Sue - 2/3/2017

First may I say that I LOVE the induction stovetop. Easy to clean, big burners, water boils almost instantly it seems. Even, instant cooking that doesn't heat up the house. Ten times better than gas or electric. Next may I say that I REALLY DISLIKE the ovens. I had better, more even cooking results with my previous bottom-of-the-line Whirlpool range oven. Preheat is 30 minutes minimum. When baking cookies and German pancakes I get food that is burned outside and undercooked inside. This fan comes on, even when I am not cooking with convection, and it stays on at least 2 hours after I turn the oven off, which is an irritation to me because I keep thinking I must have left the oven on, and I'm always checking it. Lastly, the timer is not reliable. When it goes off, it makes this quiet, single beep, which I often don't hear. It may beep a second time and then just stop altogether, which means I often don't hear it and burn my food. Oh yes. And the bulb in the lower oven has burned out after 3 months. Having paid high dollar for a range that was supposed to do it all, I have mixed feelings. I can't recommend the induction top enough; I can't say enough bad about the ovens. For some unexplained reason, Whirlpool/Kitchenaid sent me a free high-end set of pots and pans recently. It was a very nice gesture, but instead I truly wish they would have given me a better double oven in the first place.

This oven is great- the induction range cooks very fast. I love the touch controls which are so much easier to clean than knobs. Outstanding double oven range

Submitted by Mitchell - 1/19/2017

I love my new Kitchenaid double oven range. Only have had for 2 weeks. It has a snazzy appearance, is easy to keep clean, and above all cooks very evenly both on the cook top and in the ovens. I installed this about a month ago and am very happy with the performance of this stove. I have baked a turkey in the lower oven and a pizza in the upper oven. The turkey came out perfect and the pizza came out good but was a little more brown on the on the back edge. I love the induction top. My cookware heats up very fast. Water boils in less than two minutes! and the surface of the stove doesn't get hot; however it does get warm from the heat transfer from the pan. I like the safety feature of automatic turn-off when a pan is removed from the burner. One gallon of water boils (212 degrees) in 9 min 23 seconds. It took my old electric stove 30 minutes to do the same.

Cooking is exciting again!

Submitted by TXKathyO - 1/13/2017

When our 35 year old GE electric coil range quit, we decided to try an induction stove. After much research and reading lots of reviews, this KitchenAid model was the one we wanted to try. I didn't know anything about cooking on induction, but I read the instructions and gave it a try. It is now a joy to cook. The temperature settings are very precise and the food has cooked perfectly at the temperatures and times suggested. The ceramic cooktop is easy to keep clean and neither oven has needed cleaning yet. Having 2 ovens is a real convenience and the "bonuses" like the steamer and rolling shelf are very cool. Cooking is exciting again!
